Welcome Reception Sunday 13th June
An official opening ceremony and welcome reception will take place in The National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin. This evening will provide an opportunity for delegates to meet in a relaxed environment and catch up with old friends.

Transport will be provided to collect delegates from their congress hotels and drop off on the return trip.

State Reception Monday 14th June
A reception will be held in the historic State Apartments of Dublin Castle. Situated on an ancient Celtic Site, Dublin Castle was used by the British from the time of Elizabeth 1 until Irish independence. Transport will be provided to collect delegates from their congress hotels and drop off on the return trip.

Study Tour Wednesday 16th June
A full day of technical visits for delegates and accompanying persons to visit a number of gardens and other sites in the Dublin and Wicklow region (just south of Dublin). The highlights of the day will include a visit to the National Botanic Gardens’ Kilmacurragh Arboretum, in Co. Wicklow, an important heritage garden with major collections of temperate trees that has been restored over the last decade. Delegates will also be given the opportunity to see some important Irish vegetation types, including native oak (Quercus spp.) woodlands and blanket bog. A short visit to the early Christian monastic site at Glendalough will also be included.

Gala Dinner Wednesday 16th June
The Gala Dinner will be held in the National Botanic Gardens. This evening will include a sumptuous four course meal with wine and an exciting entertainment programme.

Irish Night Thursday 17th June
A traditional Irish evening will take place at the world famous Old Jameson Distillery. Your evening begins with drinks a reception and guided tour of the distillery. This relaxed evening includes Irish music and ‘craic’ and also contemporary ‘Riverdance’ style dancing paired with a delicious meal. A limited number of tickets are available.

Dublin Literary Pub Crawl Thursday 17th June
Dublin Literary Pub Crawl is a pub tour with two actors who introduce Dublin writers such as Joyce, Beckett, Behan, Mary Lavin, and Oscar Wilde and perform scenes from their works. The tour lasts approximately 2 1/4 hours. Delegates will have the option to stay and explore Dublin after the pub crawl should they wish too.
